London - W1
W1 is at the centre of the world renowned 'West End' of London and is home to major tourist attractions, theatres and Europe's busiest shopping street. The West End is home to many well-known landmarks, including Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, Hyde Park and Marble Arch.
The area is bound by Piccadilly and Shaftesbury Avenue to the South, Euston Road & Marylebone Road to the North, Tottenham Court Road & Charing Cross Road to the East and Edgware Road & Park Lane to the West. W1 is home to four main areas, Marylebone, Fitzrovia, Soho and Mayfair.
W1 is home to many occupiers in the media sector, including AOL, M&C Saatchi, Sony, WPP, 21st Century Fox, Hearst Magazines, Twitter and Thomson Reuters. Other occupiers include the US Embassy, Arup, Blackstone, Diageo, Grosvenor, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Egerton Capital and Fladgate.
There is a wide variety of office space in the West End which suits the different needs of occupiers, from modern new office space to offices in period buildings. W1 has a wide range of hotels in the area, with Mayfair in particular being home to many internationally renowned hotels including The Connaught, Claridge's, The Dorchester, The Mayfair Hotel and The Ritz. The dining scene in W1 also has a varied offering, with many well known restaurants in the area including Scott's, Chiltern Firehouse, Claridge's, Pollen St Social, Galvin at Windows and The Ritz.
W1 is well served by public transport with access to the Central, Jubilee, Victoria, Piccadilly, Northern and Bakerloo lines via numerous London Underground stations including Oxford Circus, Baker Street, Marylebone, Charing Cross, Tottenham Court Road and others. Transport for the area will be further enhanced in 2018 with the arrival of Crossrail (The Elizabeth Line) at Bond Street and Tottenham Court Road, which will enable passengers to travel from the West End to Liverpool Street in 7 minutes (currently 12 minutes) and in the other direction, Heathrow in 29 minutes (currently 49 minutes).
