Bermondsey is a place that has a bit of everything: lovely cafés, bustling markets, great food and plenty of art. Whether you’re grabbing a coffee, checking out an exhibition or having a wander, there’s always something happening. This guide rounds up some of Team bbg’s top spots to eat, drink and explore.
One for the culture buff or fashion fanatic. There is so much on offer from workshops and talks to subversive exhibitions. If you love a museum shop, there is a pretty great craft selection as well as a great range of technical books.
Sitting outside this lovely pub, people watching on a sunny day, cannot be beaten as a great Bermondsey experience.
Always offering free admission, this striking exhibition space showcases work of some of the world’s most interesting and exciting contemporary artists.
Need to pick up something special for dinner? This is the ideal spot to find produce to please even the most discerning of palates. You can also grab your lunch here if you can’t face a sad desk sandwich.
Meet here for team elevenses. It’s a gorgeous bakery – what more do we need to say – it’s on our must visit list!
An Espresso Martini Masterclass? Yes please. High on our to do list, we have only heard great things about this TimeOut award winning coffee shop. Explore the history of this iconic Martini, industry secrets and make one…or two… A really good one for small teams and/or your friends.
Strictly for the 5-9, Vinegar Yard is great for drinks and nibbles with the team. It shows all the sport fixtures and has a huge roof terrace for those seeking some sun in the summer. You can also pop by at the weekend for the massive market featuring curated craft, vintage and pop-ups.
For even more coffee, we love the WatchHouse at Tower Bridge. Great for catch ups with clients or to catch up with some work. Our team rate the banana bread and the extensive coffee menu.
For all things street food, you have to check out this bustling weekend market on Rope Walk. Bring coffee as you may have to queue but it’s so worth the wait, especially for the arepas! Follow this up with a trip to the nearby Spa Terminus Food Market to catch a few ideas for dinner.
