BBG Manages Blues Brothers Project

BBG is pleased to confirm the success of the “Blues Brothers Project” for client, The Economist Group, who were keen to “put the band back together!” in consolidating its London office operations under one roof for the first time in 30 years.

Five years ago Tom Boggis, advised the Editorial Team in relocating from the Economist Tower in St. James’s, SW1 to 26,000 sq.ft. in the iconic Adelphi Building at Embankment Gardens south of Strand, WC2. The latest project resulted from the eagle-eyed identification of space that became surplus from the Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants and resulted in the client capturing the 25,000 sq.ft. fourth floor of the Adelphi in an “off-market” deal.

The additional floor in the Adelphi will enable the Global Group HQ to relocate from Canary Wharf. The enhanced collaboration between the business, editorial and technology teams has been a key component of The Economist Group’s successful digital transformation strategy, and being in the same building will support this further. The new space will also allow the business to embrace hybrid working.
