Google unveils spectacular new London office

As “wellness” features in buildings ever higher in the thought of major corporates, Google has unveiled the cutting edge designs for its new King’s Cross Headquarters.

The £1 billion, 900,000 sq ft building is as long as The Shard is tall and includes facilities such as a 200m running trail through a roof top meadow. The concrete, glass and timber design is the combined creation of architects Thomas Heatherwick and a Danish practice.

When combined with the existing offices in Pancras Square, Google will house up to 7,000 employees in the complex.

BBG is very active for various TMT sector clients in the King’s Cross and Clerkenwell areas, which continue to attract companies from West End and Midtown office markets, though rents have increased, reflecting the shortage of office supply in the localities.
